The sacraments will make you strong!
Pope francis

Congratulations on your decision to receive the sacrament of marriage in the Catholic Church! You have asked to have your marriage witnessed within the Roman Catholic Church community at Our Lady of Fatima Parish. We rejoice with you. Weddings are special and joyful times for brides and grooms, for their families and friends, and for the parish community. A wedding is a new beginning, filled with love, promises, and hope. The wedding celebration is a special and grace filled time in our lives. The Church welcomes its members to celebrate and solemnize their weddings in the context of our prayer as Christians.
Great care is taken to see that the prayer for this special moment is reverent, graceful, beautiful, and open to the movement of God’s Spirit among us. Our celebrations of the sacraments, marriage included, are always rooted in listening to the scriptures, so that we can be nourished and strengthened by God’s word. Always, we celebrate the sacraments as a community.
We gather our brothers and sisters in faith and ask for their prayerful support. To be complete, these celebrations are filled with sung prayer, with graceful gestures, and with the silence in which we hear the voice of God in our lives.
Our Lady of Fatima Parish wishes to support couples as they prepare for the Sacrament of Matrimony through prayer and action. For this reason, guidelines have been established for marriage preparation by the Diocese of Tucson not to create obstacles, but to increase the opportunity of a lasting, loving marriage. Couples should contact the parish office at the time of their engagement to allow time to complete the necessary preparation in a timely fashion. A minimum of six months known engagement is required prior to the wedding.
