"THE CHURCH'S CATECHETICAL MISSION AIMS TO HELP THE FAITHFUL OF ALL AGES TO GROW IN BOTH HUMAN AND CHRISTIAN MATURITY, ENRICHING THE WHOLE OF LIFE WITH THE LEAVEN OF THE GOSPEL." (USCCB)
Faith Formation establishes relationships of trust that:
- Arouse spiritual hunger.
- Lead to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Ignite a desire to know Him through His Word.
- Deepen a commitment to follow Him in the Church.
- The parish offers Faith Formation designed to support children, youth and adults throughout their lives as they follow Jesus and work to build the Kingdom of God.
Liturgy of the Word with Children
This ministry has not been implemented at this time. We will need volunteers when it is implemented. A proclamation of the Word of God adapted for children, it is celebrated at the TBD Mass. Presiders offer the opportunity for children to share how scripture speaks to them and how they experience Jesus each day. Presiders lead children (age 5-10) in celebration in the parish hall. Assistants accompany children during transitions and help them to participate. Weekly resources and training are provided. A background check and Safe Environment Training is required. Life Teen Core Team & Life Support
This is a High School Ministry. This ministry is supported by the Deacons and a vetted Adult Coordinator. Youth ministers who have been in this program and vetted are encourage to help the Adult Coordinator. Volunteers are needed to support special events like Retreats. We welcome every high school student to come and have fun every Wednesday at 7:00 PM. As a Eucharist-centered movement within the Roman Catholic Church, Life Teen leads teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. With the Blessed Virgin Mary as our intercessor and guide, Life Teen seeks to unleash the fullness of the Sacramental power present within the young Church. A background check and Safe Environment training are required. Baptism Facilitator
Volunteer assists the parish office staff in training, and baptisms. They also assist in ensuring all paperwork is completed, registries are updated, and families are registered. Scripture Study Ministry
Scripture study includes daily personal Bible reading and study, group faith sharing, video and lecture presentations, and prayer. Objectives include a deeper personal relationship with God, richer appreciation of the Catholic faith tradition, and a fuller experience of Christian community. Facilitators guide the discussion, establish an open and accepting climate, lead group prayer, and support and encourage participants. Volunteers should be faithful to the time commitment, be willing to lead prayer and discussion, and have a welcoming spirit. |
Sacramental Preparation (Adults)
This ministry assists in the preparation of adults (18+) who have been baptized but have not yet received their First Communion and Confirmation. RCIA Sponsors or Team Members (Adults)
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults welcomes those considering becoming Roman Catholic and prepares them for the Sacraments and full reception into the Church. Our sponsors are compassionate, good listeners, and love to share their faith with others. A sponsor does not need to be a saint or theologian - just a faithful and participating member of our community who lives out and models the faith. Your own faith will be deepened and enriched by sponsoring another. Our Parish provides RCIA through another parish since we do not have the staff, volunteers, and space requirements for this program. Those with experience as an RCIA sponsor who want to become team members who instruct and/or dismissal catechists are welcome to apply by contacting our sister parish. A background check and Safe Environment training are required The EDGE
EDGE is a middle school ministry. Volunteers are part of the Catechetical Team. EDGE Core Team members take a front-line role as catechists, giving witness talks, leading small groups, participating in skits, and working to bring Middle School youth to Christ. Core Team might be for you if you’re confirmed and have a desire to share your faith with others. The program follows the EDGE format: Built on scripture, prayer, service, and fellow-ship. A background check and Safe Environment training are required. |
